Fred W. Curtis proprietor of the Bred We. Gurta Drug and Paint Co Inc died Saturday after long illness. He was a Mason, a Baptist trustee, and longtime member of Troy business and fraternal circles. Born September 4 1805, he built a career in drug wholesale and retail, owning the business since 1898 and combining drug, paint, oils and glass sales. He served as director of the Troy Prudential Association and held numerous civic and church roles.

Mrs Mann Dies At Home Of Daughter
Mrs Mann, a former postmaster and longtime church member, died at her daughter Miss Jeanette Mittin’s home in Ont Weatherly at age 80. Born in 1864 in Battle, she moved with her family to Troy where her father worked at the Bank of Troy. She married in 1878 and had five daughters, with survivors including Mrs Frederick B. Draper of Troy and Mrs Elizabeth Herrick of New York, among others, plus thirteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral arrangements pending.
