Old Landmark To Make Way For New Gas Station

A modern thirty thousand dollar gasoline station will replace a long vacant plot at the Jaenb Street King Street and Suh Avenue intersection. Sun Oil Company of Albany bought the property running 180 feet south from Jaebob Street, with the former building on Jacob and King Streets razed by DeLair and Sons Wreckers to clear the site. Plans call for a two bay masonry station with pumps and pavement, aimed at easing traffic at the intersection and is expected to open in late spring. The demolition recalls the unsolved 1931 murder of Albert Watson, former Troy alderman, whose shooting remains linked to the location.
