Wherein Cage Game Takes To Water with Success
Whitney Martin reports on a shipboard basketball program begun in December 193 with a makeshift court on a troopship. A four-man Kama court formed leagues among 24 divisions, a junior league followed, and daily five-minute games drew up to 300 players. By reporting date, about 750 service members used the court amid Army Navy interservice games and evolving “sig league” play, with many players advancing from junior to senior ranks.
