Mechanicville City Council reorganizes at annual meeting
The Mechanicville city council met in the mayor's office with Mayor Homer Eckerson presiding. Reappointments included city historian George W. Tilly and fire department officers Raymond Blowers as fire chief George E. Meehan secretary A. W. Smith treasurer and Dr. William Van Doren department surgeon. Officials said appointments for physician city attorney and stenographer would likely be made at the Friday Jan 14 meeting. The State Bank of Albany was named depositary for civ funds. Ashes and garbage collection was set to four days weekly with two trucks, and the city would be divided into two districts. Jam G. Heffernan was directed to draft death-respect resolutions for John Leo Dugan. The meeting also noted World Series 1943 sound movies at Rotary Club lunch.
