Brunswick Churches to Hold Services Next Week

Five Brunswick churches will conduct Week of Prayer services Monday through Friday at 8 p.m. Each evening features a different pastor as guest speaker, with Cassie Miller presiding Friday at Engel Mills Methodist Church.

Interchurch Meeting Led by Me Buss and Mr. Wilson

Five churches unite under Me Buss and Mr Wilson to lead an interchurch meeting. The school schedule remains in Sah church with the assessors in charge of opening worship. An offering will be collected at each meeting to be shared among the participating churches.

Farrell Returns To Desk in State

Thomas J. Passel, former Tor fan and officer in the Stonnehemfeld operations, returns to the State Department of Public Walks as chief engineer. He was promoted from brigadier general to major general and awarded the Mistingfished Service Medal for his wart on the atomic body before leaving active service. He says he plans to help with further developments in constructive projects and may assist the government if it does not conflict with his work with the alinte. He also plans to go to sea with the Navy in the spring to test the bomb on ald ships. Farrel left Albany five years ago for Army service.

Baggage Clerk Walter Sugdon Dies at Cambridge Station

Walter L. Sugdon a thirty year baggage clerk for the Delaware & Hudson Railroad at Cambridge Station died yesterday at the home of Mrs. T. Ames. He was born in Cambridge on May 22, 1888 and is survived by a sister and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. from Mrs. Ames’ residence with Pastor Paul R. Graham of the United Presbyterian Church, Cambridge, and interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Cambridge.

Council of Girl Scouts to Meet at 4 PM

The Junior Council of the Tray Area Girl Scouts will hold a meeting at 4 pm. Regina Bloomfield, president of the Junior Council, will preside. Mrs Reuben Graves will serve as advisor at the session.

Agnes Meighan Promoted to First Lieutenant in Army Nurse Corps

Agnes T Meighan rises from second lieutenant to first lieutenant in the Army Nurse Corps and is stationed at Camp Upton. She is the daughter of Clyde A and Mrs Meighan of 90 Ninth Street, a Catholique Central High School and Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing graduate who entered service in March 1945. Prior to service she worked at Samaritan Hospital in the operating room and now serves in Camp Upton Hospital operating room while assisting prisoners of war.

Schools Report Less Absenteeism In City Classrooms

The general superintendent of schools reported absenteeism下降 to 18 percent daily in public and parochial schools with notable reductions at Gathalic Central High School, while Sally Institute and Landing schools showed improvement.
