Crackerbox Housing Solves Big Problems in Charlestown
In Charlestown Oregon a new housing town named Crackerbox emerges amid wartime remnants and a vast ammunition depot. Plans describe a 106 mm trail, yellow letters, and 28 by 32 foot four room homes built from basic sheets. The project ties into postwar storage repurposing and government support for community facilities including a business club, restaurant, and gardens.
