Water Pollution Report Details Colonie Area Sewage Problems

The State Health Department survey outlines five severe Colonie district areas with inadequate sewage treatment and lists communities with no treatment facilities in Albany County. It notes only about 10,500 of nearly 60,000 Colonie residents are connected to sewer systems with treatment and 5,500 more lack treatment. The report underscores ongoing improvements by C. T. Male Associates and a long range plan under Malcolm Pirnie, with a master report due next December guiding 50 years of sewage planning.
