Village explores HUD grant programs for housing, water, and buildings

The 1977 HUD grant application outlines three programs for the village: a 150000 rebate plan offering up to 50 percent for rehab. 100000 to repair a failing water system with 38 of 140 fire hydrants unable to meet 500 gpm. and 20000 to buy two buildings for repair or demolition. Hoosick Falls Suit Dropped Over False Arrest Case

Fred Driscoll's 415,000 false arrest lawsuit against Hoosick Falls was discontinued in November 1976 after Driscoll pleaded guilty to the arrest charge. Gerald Harley, representing Driscoll, said the suit arose from an arrest at his home during a family dispute. The plea's upholding by the Court of Appeals was noted by Driscoll's attorney.
