East Greenbush Signs Under Review for Zoning Compliance
East Greenbush building inspector surveys billboard and sign advertisements to enforce 1962 zoning rules in residential areas. The study, urged by Supervisor John S. Wall after complaints about a real estate sign at John J. Melfie’s property, targets nonconforming signs with a four year renewal grace that expired last year. Wall directs town attorney J Michael Hippick to pursue legal steps as the inspector lists locations violating the ordinance. The rule limits signs to two square feet in residential zones and prohibits illuminated signs with direct glare beyond the property line.
