Bills Affecting Drivers Licenses Die In Committee
Albany reports that four motor vehicle bills were killed in the Assembly Committee on Motor Vehicles led by Thomas H. Brown of Troy. The measures included one requiring comprehensive vision and health exams for licensees and renewals, another substituting only eye tests, and two bills barring anyone under 16 from operating motorized vehicles except certain exceptions. Brown argued the age bills would burden farm youths who help on farms across state roads. The doomed bills were Nos. 146, 302, 1402 and 1482.
