Albany officials announce the Winter Carnival at Washington Park will be held this Sunday with snow or shine after last Sunday's cancellation due to good weather. If weather is bad the event proceeds in any case, with cold conditions expected.
The Clifton Park town board schedules a 7 p.m. March 2 public hearing at town hall to amend zoning so a volunteer ambulance corps garage can be built on land zoned for neighborhood business on English Road. The land was donated but lies outside current ambulance provisions.

A hospital spokesman said there has been no significant change since Tuesday when he had been listed as fair after admission on February 4. The 91 year old lifelong chain smoker was reported to be suffering from lung issues.
Assumption and St. Paul parishes may unite in Mechanicville. A public meeting is set for Wednesday at 7 30 p m at the Italian Fraternal Hall on Viall Avenue to discuss the proposal. All Assumption parishioners are urged to attend. Larry Casey promoted to E 6 at Ft Monmouth New Jersey.

The case centers on a $4 000 down payment from a Saratoga family that funded a trailer sale and failed home build leaving them homeless with two children.
Bronfman kidnapping case figure Mel Patrick Lynch, held at Sing Sing since mid January after a four to 12 year sentence for extorting 2.3 million dollars from Edgar Bronfman Sr., will be taken to Albany Medical Center for a special examination of his severely injured left foot.
