Four Ontario Men Dead In Canadian Plane Crash
Sst John Poljacik led four troopers at the scene and contacted the Mounted Police for tentative identifications. Bodies were moved to Hanson Walbridge Funeral Home Bennington then to Rutland Hospital for autopsies. Two bodies to Hanson Walbridge and two to Mahar Son Funeral Home before Canada return. All four men lived near the route in Ontario Canada. Pilot Charles Woodcock father of three. Vernon Woodcock, his father, died in a 1948 Canadian plane crash. The men, all Oshawa residents, were GM employees who enjoyed hockey trips by plane.

Brussels officials say a three story elderly home in a large park near the Belgian capital was hit by a blaze driven by high winds. Twenty six residents were missing and feared dead as seventy others escaped safely. Many victims were believed trapped in their bedrooms. daylight was awaited to confirm casualties.

Trumpeter Muggsy Spanier died at age 65 in his Sausalito home. His wife Ruth found him dead of an apparent heart attack. Spanier had last performed publicly in 1965 after a serious heart condition.

Orbiter Set To Start Moon Photo Mission
Lunar Orbiter 3 slowed by a 34 second velocity control burn to place it 28 miles from the moon as it prepares for a photographic mission. JPL reports the transfer maneuver completed satisfactorily and the craft remained stable during the burn. Tracking stations in Goldstone and Australia began checks as the orbiter vanished behind the lunar disk.
