Tiomaid Campbell of Cherry Valley RD 3 was arrested yesterday afternoon on a warrant alleging assault in the first degree. He was picked up by State Police and handed to Detective Frank J Connery. Campbell's wife Gatien Vieve was the complainant in the assault alleged to have occurred February 1. Campbell was held at the Bensrelner County Jail pending arraignment in Tray Polley Court.
A 13 million dollar mortgage filed in Rensselaer County with Continental Bank & Trust Co. of New York secures debt owed by a corporation. A tax of 65 thousand dollars is imposed and apportioned among counties where the corporation’s properties lie. The electric distribution system serves Bolin, East Greenbush, Nassau, North Greenbush, Petersburgh, Poestenkill, Sand Lake, Schaghticoke, and Stephentown.
A. E. Matera was sworn in yesterday afternoon by County Clerk Lawhner J. Collins as Reneselaer County coroner. He will serve the remainder of the year and replace the four district coroner system with an at large office. The county medical examiner will be appointed at the next meeting. Co‑signers include Charles J. Cole Troy Sir George Putty Nassau and James Lohnes Valley Falls. Matera’s Republican nomination by the Eleventh Ward committee is noted.
St Peters Holy Name Society hosts a teen dance at St Peter Lyceum beginning at 7 30 pm. High school pupils are invited with a curb on age and dress worn by students. Proceeds support church activities and youth programs.
