Blaze the White House dog gains high priority transport
A Senate subcommittee heard that FDR's dog Blaze received a special air transport priority from the Air Transport Command after a White House request. General George said the action was unauthorized and likened it to a favoritism case while servicemen with lower priorities were offloaded to make room. Public hearings on air travel priorities are sought. Colonel Roosevelt’s brigadier general promotion awaits Senate confirmation.
