Chinese Leader Sees Axis Defeat
Dr Ping-Chuan Chen of Canton University predicts Axis powers will quit by July Fourth. He says Japan will capitulate after a pincer strike from China with Shanghai as a likely launch point and a large allied air sea armada hitting the Philippines from the south and southwest Pacific. He asserts the result is inevitable and notes China needs U. S. capital.

China Plans Postwar Industrialization and Finance
Dr. Chen says China needs American capital to build its postwar industrial base and stabilize the currency. He cites inflation as a major internal problem, with prices for basic goods rising sharply since before the war. China seeks no Japanese territory and plans to occupy Formosa and Manchuria to regain control, with a new constitution expected within a year after the war. He will meet American economists and tour the United States gathering data for a government report.
