Wilton guards may be suspended for escape

Two guards at Wilton Correctional Facility face a 15 day unpaid suspension over a December escape by two inmates one still at large. Names were not released. They have 14 days to appeal and may accept the Labor Relations Department's recommended suspension or pursue the grievance process.

County board chief hails visitation ruling

Saratoga County Board of Supervisors Chairman John Dudek praised the state Supreme Court ruling on jail visitation limits. He said the decision saves money for taxpayers by avoiding costly minimum standards and opposes expanding state mandates on counties. The board expects an appeal but calls it a victory for now.

Rexford Water District seeks bond for overruns in project

Clifton Park Town Board special meeting authorized a 74000 bond to cover water district overruns in the 650000 project. The extra funds cover the water tower and home hookups after rock drilling and higher per home costs. Beauty pageant named for Miss Greater Saratoga County

Darlene Peacock of Greenfield Center and Andre Dumas of Saratoga Springs will be general chairmen for the Miss Greater Saratoga County Scholarship Pageant on March 26 at the Saratoga Harness Race Track. Missionary to Speak at Mechanicville Tabernacle

A missionary assigned to Germany will speak at Highway Tabernacle 90 River Road Mechanicville this Sunday at 10 30 a m. Robert L Reed of the Assemblies of God will discuss his work with servicemen and sing in sermon form. He previously served as Teen Challenge field rep in New York City and Little Rock and was associate pastor at First Assembly of God in Binghamton.
