The Tonawiluer County Board of Pleetiony reports a county wide enrollment drop of 11 627 with City of Trey falling 6 596 and overall county enrollment at 85 329. Republicans lead in county enrollment with 2 etc.
Trygve Lie of Norway was installed as secretary general of the United Nations on Saturday with a pledge to lead through obstacles. He was sworn in by General Assembly president Paul-Henri Spaak of Belgium during a plenary session as delegates expected the assembly to convene again within a week. The ceremony occurred amid policy disputes between nations as the world organization faced early tensions.
Mr and Mrs Edward W Raymond and their seven year old daughter, former Ale hans residents, escaped a house fire in Winsted Connecticut. Mr Crossman woke, ran a quarter mile in bare feet to summon help as flames spread. Crossman, secretary of the Winsted YMCA, aided in rescuing the three children and women.
Repairs to St Patri church sanctuary are nearing completion. A new sanctuary door has been installed and is completed. The alarm system is being cleaned. The improvements are part of a broader church program scheduled to make facilities available.

Frank Murphy is general chairman, with Lawrence Burke entertainment committee and multiple assigns for tickets refreshments publicity and hell committee.

John J. Burke longtime Hoosick Falls market owner dies after years of health decline. Born in Lincolnville he built a business tied to Hoosick Falls and was active in local lodge life. Survived by wife Isabel Murphy, daughter Skis Willie, three sons David of Albany Joe of Hoosick Falls and Robert of Washington DC, two sisters and three brothers, with nieces and nephews. Funeral at Mrs Galvin home Hoosick Falls and Immaculate Conception Church. Burial Marys Cemetery.
