A muddled recipe collection offers several pies and a meat mince dish for Christmas. It includes a Magic Cranberry Pie with condensed milk and lemon, a squash and raisin pie, and a complex mince pie filling using suet, quinces, apples, spices, and stock.
Readable sections describe a festive Christmas meal plan for families with a baby, including tips to maintain the baby's routine, the idea that Christmas dinner is a family priority, and a recipe section with a Christmas daily tray for infants. It also briefly mentions a postman returning after long service and wartime duties.
A jumbled column offers a holiday cake recipe using condensed tomato soup and cream cheese frosting, plus stray notes on festive breads, regional customs, and a former teacher who served in Ireland New Guinea and the Chibpping Islands. It mentions homemaker tips and a quirky Red Crows Worker anecdote with a furloughed plan.
Instructions describe making pomanders from orange and cloves using orris root cinnamon and other spices. The method covers stuffing rolling in powder embedding cloves and drying wrapped in tissue or paper. A looped string or crochet cradle allows hanging as a scent gift.
A festive no bake recipe uses wafers, condensed milk and peppermint to build a layered chocolate mint dessert. Assemble four wafers per stack, alternate with chocolate mix, chill twelve hours, then slice and garnish with whipped cream or fruit.
