An audit of Cohoes Community Development Agency from March 1 1975 to June 30 1977 recommends moving payroll and disbursement checks from the city computer room and continuing to keep records on contractor labor practices and wages. Mayor Canestrari calls findings minor and notes conformity with HUD regulations.
About 40 ERDS adult group members attended a Christmas party at First Methodist Church with Rotary Club chair Rev John YV Columbus presiding. Entertainment included Santa by Charles Sunkes, music by Sal Izzo, Paul Oldham and Carol Bouck, and carol singing led by Mrs. Columbus.
A Day With Santa at the Cohoes Community Center hosted by the Cohoes Youth Bureau and Recreation Department. Clarence Mickey Grosso of Hudson Valley Community College will perform as Goober the clown from 7 to 8 p.m. He has portrayed the role since 1974 and belongs to the Cypress Temple Clown Unit. A Christmas movie screens at 6:30 p.m., and the public is invited.
Two and three year olds will learn tap ballet and acrobatics while four to six year olds focus on tap and ballet. Mrs Diana Seguin of Spendwood School leads sessions at the Cohoes Community Center every Saturday starting January 7 from 10 to 11 a.m. Pre registration required and a nominal fee applies.
The Association of Albany County will end its food nutrition and home management programs used by Cohoes residents since 1969. Call 169 Mohawk St for referrals to other agencies. Affected workers include Barbara Shipman Roberts Roberta LeMay Helen Omecinskyj Lucille Comtois and Doris Gagnon.
Judge Walter Burke heard Barbara Spizowski, 20, of 216 On tanio St Cannes, charged with larceny conspiracy and probation violation. Found guilty of petty larceny and probation violation with 10 to 15 days in Albany County jail. Esther Bennie, 64, of 37 Machanic ks faced assault and street conduct charges.
Michael Duquette of Jackson Ave Cohoes faces burglary charges and possession of stolen property in a case noted for court processing. Bail set at 800 dollars as the matter proceeds through the district court.
Students at Van Schaick Island Elementary School 150 Continental Ave prepare a Christmas Concert in the school auditorium at 1 30 PM on Wednesday. Mrs Annette Curtis directs the vocal music program and Mrs Mary K Brown oversees student artwork for the event.
