Deputy Conservation Commissioner J. Victor Skiff said the program paused during the war would resume next year with funds from the State Post War Planning Commission. The effort has planted 268,000 trees across 33 counties since 1929, with stock ready from the Saratoga holdings and additional land and stock appropriations approved in 1945. The project aims to expand as economic conditions permit.
