Three Appointed By Town To Ethics Board
A judge, a priest and the town attorney were named to a three member ethics board for Colonie at the town board meeting in Newtonville. Justice Ellis J. Staley Jr. Rev. Benjamin Kuhn and Robert P. Heywood will serve without compensation. A decision cleared Staley from conflicts. The board created Drainage Dist. No. 1 for Rose Garden and Mountain View Terrace with a storm sewer project not to exceed 65000 on a benefit assessment basis. A rezoning request for 17 acres on Albany Shaker Road was rejected after strong local opposition and petitions. A public hearing on December 23 at 9 p.m. may raise the aged property tax exemption salary from 3000 to 5000, potentially in concert with two school districts North and South Colonie.
