Washington County faces Medicaid levy burden shift to state
The Washington County Board of Supervisors, led by Finance Chair Joseph L. Randles, plans to press Governor Nelson A. Rockefeller and legislative leaders to cover Medicaid costs tied to county real estate taxes. The 17 towns’ 1967 1968 tax rates and equalized real estate values are listed, with counties urging state officials to assume Medicaid funding responsibility. A statewide supervisors’ visit to Albany is proposed to discuss the issue.
