Fire damaged a 1% story frame home on Route 66 Sand Lake injuring two Averill Park firefighters. Bernard Clifford and Keith Hoffman sustained finger and hand injuries but were treated at the scene and returned to duty. The blaze started near a chimney and climbed a wall from the basement to the kitchen and roof, though officials said the roof was not breached.
