Changes In GI Loans Announced By Veterans Agency Director
Charles Osborn Jr. announced during a Mechanicville visit that restoring unused GI loan entitlement for World War II and Korean War veterans makes home, farm and business loans available again. The act allows up to 10,000 in guaranteed or direct mobile home loans with 7,500 for sites, but guarantees end after July 1, 1975. It liberalizes direct loans for specially adapted housing nationwide and expands remodeling financing to 12,500. VA guaranteed loans on condominiums are authorized and the entitlement may refinance existing mortgages. The act ends a 0.5 percent funding fee for post Korean and Vietnam veterans, saving about 100 on a 20,000 home.
