Girl Injured Crossing Street In Lansingburgh
An eight year old Troy girl, Jane St. John of 12 118th St., was struck by a car on Second Avenue at 118th Street and taken to Leon 2rd Hospital. She was treated for knee injuries and released. The driver, Michael J. Byer, 34, of Troy, said he could not avoid the collision.

An urban guerrilla group invaded a Montevideo television station, ordered workers out, and detonated four bombs. Six men and a woman entered with seven staff present, widely attributed to the Tupamaros, a leftist group known for terrorism and kidnappings.

General Electric Sili cone Products Department honored three chemists at a luncheon for patent achievements. Joseph Zdaniewski Milton Evans and Abraham Berger share 72 patents while with Waterford GE. Zdaniewski of Scotia received a bronze medal for his first patent Evans of Schenectady earned a silver for his 12 patents Berger of Schenectady received a gold for his 59th patent.

Hearing Held In Deaths Of 2 Poestenkill Children
A pre trial hearing resumed in Rensselaer County Court in the case of A Donald Harrat 20 charged with criminally negligent homicide in the deaths of Peter Russell Howes 9 and Christine Anne Howes 7 on July 4 1968. The accident occurred near Camp Rotary on a dirt road. Harrat had been summoned on a drunk driving charge and witnesses were expected to be called by defense.
