War letters from front line troops mention strikes back home
A wounded 165th infantry member at Saipan writes that veterans stay strong while civilians back home strike for higher pay. He condemns neglect on the home front and laments the cost in lives. The note ties broader war effort to domestic unrest and calls for pride in service. Several soldiers and air corps members are named with postings in Europe and the Pacific, detailing training, missions, and arrivals in England, France, Italy, and the United States.
