Nazis Maintain Air Superiority Through Fortress Operations
U S. authorities report German airmen are flying captured four engine bombers in raids over France and Germany while avoiding interference with Allied missions. The plan appears to involve infiltration into formations, though American Fortress identification methods and distance between captives prevent easy attacks. Germany would face costly modifications to mount 50 caliber guns, and bomber design limits hinder such use.
