Karl L. Francis, 33, longtime critic of modern life, built a stone cabin in Coronado National Forest above Oracle Arizona. After years of isolation he declared a zany gold mine in back yard unworthy of a patent. Facing eviction, he blew up with a case of dynamite. The Forest Service said he trespassed on public lands and the land did not contain enough gold to warrant title.
