Annual Swim Meet in Mechanicville Recognizes Local Learners
The 13th annual Learn to Swim meet in Mechanicville will take place Friday at noon at Mechanicville High School. Eligible participants include those who completed one or more of the four sessions of the eight week program. Races span all skill levels from lifesaving to beginner with a penny hunt and diving competition. Gold and silver medals will be awarded. instructors are Cindy Fascia John Elwell Kathy Pitcheralle and Lori Chauvin.

CSR recognized for top fund raising program in 1976 77
The College of St. Rose is named among the nation's seven top colleges for an effective fund raising program. The award comes from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education. CSR has a 2.7 million building plan begun in 1976 with 1.35 million in gifts and pledges to date. The Toward Tomorrow project aims to finish in January 1978, adding an activities building a gymnasium swimming pool and an 8 bed residence hall.

RENSSELAER The Rensselaer County district attorney said he may issue a Friday statement on his plans regarding a shooting in Rensselaer involving three patrolmen and a resident, Lawrence Ward. Pierce Russell noted the police report is complete and that witnesses' statements may be rechecked. He hinted at possible grand jury action as early as Friday.

Truck Crash on Route 9 Injures Two in Colonie
Richard C. Riddell twenty two of Latham collided with Francis I. Bobar sixty three of Clifton Park at Route 9 and Boght Road on Wednesday at 150 p.m. The truck rolled over and both drivers were treated and released from Albany Medical Center Hospital for minor injuries. Riddell was cited for failure to yield for a left turn.

Brother admits to forgery in Albany County Court
The Albany County Court accepted the admission by Joseph Adornato, president of Larned Capital Corp., that he forged his brother's signature on a $10,000 May 1974 loan. This led to the dismissal of grand larceny and perjury charges against Nikolaus Catruna, who had been convicted in January of bilking an Albany man of $25,000 and faced up to five years in jail. Adornato may face civil action from Union National Bank over the defaulted loan.
