Old Hudson River Bridge Delayed By Construction
A battered old bridge over the Hudson River remains passable but dangerous as the State Department of Public Works posts warnings and limits traffic while the new span nears completion. The American Bridge Co moved machinery away to reduce risk. a slight tilt on a pier is deemed safe with normal traffic. Fireworks and local fêtes mark the Assumption observances with parades, bands, and civic groups in Mechanicville.
