Bridgeport Center Rebuilds After Fire Aids Veterans
Bridgeport Connecticut reports a civic center rebuilding after a destructive fire. The center, opened two years ago as a veterans counselling hub, quickly reopened within a day with broad public support. City leaders, agencies, and volunteers coordinated to salvage records and relocate to a new site, serving about 180 residents on day one and expanding services for industrial workers and others seeking help. Dr Randall B. Hinick leads the center, which now coordinates hundreds of volunteers and partners with schools, veterans groups, and manufacturers to provide counseling, education, and placement assistance for thousands of veterans and job seekers.
