Stewardess Heroine of Airliner Crash
A stewardess guided passengers to a rear exit during a Convair twin engine crash at Portland Municipal Airport. Despite front door failure and flames, the evacuation proceeded with no reported fatalities and 21 people escaped. The plane sustained heavy damage, but crew and passengers aided each other amid the emergency.
