Elderly Couple Deceived in $22000 Flimflam Scheme

Schenectady police seek one man and possible group of Canadian con artists who posed as a State Police investigator to coax a local elderly couple into withdrawing about $22 000 from the Mohawk Mall Schenectady Savings Bank. The ruse involved tampered telephone lines to interpose the thieves during calls. No law enforcement agency would request such bank withdrawals.

Arts and crafts show at Schuyler House Sunday

The Saratoga Historical Association hosts its annual arts and crafts show Sunday at 11 a.m. on the General Philip Schuyler House lawn Route 4 Schuylerville with a rain date of August 21. In Mechanicville a rock concert series continues today 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Talmadge Park with a 1 p.m. magic show and a 3 p.m. Punch and Judy show by Robert Owen.
