OPA announces new ceiling prices effective today in Rensselaer Troy Schenectady Green Island Cohors and Watervliet fruit and veg changes include apricots and sweet cherries removed Persian melons at ten cents per pound and sweet potatoes at twenty five cents per pound added Peas up to 27 cents per pound with others rising including plums cabbage and peaches Honeyballs drop half a cent onions down two cents per three pounds All other items remain at last week’s levels Some vegetables removed from control will not be priced until fall Green Island and Albany area notes are included plus a 15 5 cent ceiling for California pears begins today despite not being listed on charts Local pears not yet on market and obituaries and memorial notices are listed in the issue.

Howes Estate Letters Issued In Surrogate's Court
Letters testamentary were issued in Surrogate's Court yesterday to Clark Cip perly on the estate of E Elizabeth Howes of Bennington Vermont who died June 27. West Berlin Plans Dutch Picnic on August 16

Drowns in Sacandaga River Juvenile Becomes Victim
