Epoch Liberals Defeated in Ontario Election Shock
The Liberals suffered a crushing defeat in Ontario, forcing questions on national strategy. The Progressive Conservatives lead with about 38 seats, Socialists surge to around 32, and a coalition appears likely as Labour and anti-centralization sentiment grow. George Drew, 43, would become premier, and ties to Edward Johnson of the Metropolitan Opera are noted.
