Berlin voters poised for big referendum on school project
Berlin voters go to polls tomorrow to weigh a $763,000 school construction package. It funds a new seven classroom elementary school at Grattan, a kindergarten through grade six elementary at Cherry Plain, and a five room extension at Stephentown, plus minor repairs. The plan aims to convert Berlin into a junior senior high and to relieve overcrowded facilities across five district buildings. The state would cover about 48 percent of costs, with local taxes rising modestly.
