Coal Truck Drivers at Albany Return to Work
About 200 Albany coal truck drivers voted yesterday to return to work this morning, ending a walkout that halted deliveries since Saturday. The move, labeled unauthorized by Local 294 of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, was conditioned on resumed talks between union and coal dealer committees. The strike protested a War Labor Board decision denying a five cent per hour wage increase. A joint appeal to the WLB may be discussed at the proposed industry conferences.
