Innocent plea in tax case from Colonie diner owners

Charles Bienick and Mary Bieniek pleaded not guilty in federal court to charges of filing false tax statements. The couple owned Charlie's Northway Diner on Wolf Road and Bieniek's Service Station and a truck stop in Menands. They were arraigned before Judge James T. Foley and released in their own recognizance. no trial date set.

Greene County woman gets suspended year in tax case

Lida DiNino 47 owner of Villa Maria Hotel in Hines Falls pleaded guilty to underreporting 1970 income. She was sentenced by Judge Marvin Frankel to one year and a $10,000 fine with suspended term due to her 11 year old son. Romine R Bond 49 and Robert W Bond 53 funeral home operators pleaded guilty to tax evasion for 1971. Bond stated taxable income figures were understated and taxes owed were higher. They appeared before Judge James T Foley. sentencing date not set.
