County Rends Fiscal Year to Calendar Year Change
Governor Dewey approves the Marble bill moving New York counties, including Rensselaer, to a calendar year budget from January to December. The reform standardizes county operations, allows hearings on local laws and budgets, and shifts supervisors to fixed salaries, with several counties exempted. Conferences will outline a 14 month budget starting 1952 as part of the transition.
