Watervliet Arsenal Guns Outperform German Equipment On Italian Front
Brig. Gen. Gillespie cites Brig. Gen. Wilbur reporting that Watervliet Arsenal guns including the 103 mm, 155 mm Long Tom, and 200 mm howitzer lead in quantity and hitting power on the Cassino front. He praises the Garand and Springfield rifles and notes severe Italian weather as a challenge while emphasizing Ordnance support boosts firepower and soldier morale.
