Kenneth J. Lavin 27 was arrested by radio police and arraigned on burglary and grand larceny charges for the theft of an electric motor and wheel from Bayly's Service Stations. The case of Bart F. Sheldon, 27, of Fifteenth Slices, charged by Troy police with disorderly conduct, was adjourned in Police Court yesterday. Sheldon, in Samaritan Hospital with a head injury, alleges undue force at his arrest. He was arrested early Sunday on the disorderly conduct charge.

First Aid Teacher Experienced in Red Cross Service
A former Navy lieutenant and Olympic rower joined the American Red Cross as field representative for first aid water safety and accident prevention in the North Atlantic area. A volunteer and professional Red Cross worker since 1937, he taught safety and canoeing in New England and at the National Aquatic School and later served as Worcester chapter director before entering the Navy. He fought in European, Pacific and Eastern theaters and returned to civilian Red Cross work after the war.

Gattner 17 of 182 Main Street Hoosick Falls pleaded guilty to careless and negligent driving before Judge George A Mather Bennington yesterday afternoon. Police said his car struck a truck owned by the village of Bennington and traveled 287 feet before stopping after a fire call at Broadview Terrace.
