Centenarian Opposes Marriage for Longevity
Centenarian Welden, born near East Grafton and living in Valley Falls, shares his survival story and odd views on longevity and marriage. He recounts outdoor work, a 40 year old hypothetical marriage, and plans to wed at 110. He lost his right leg in a runaway team accident, underwent amputation, and retains humor about his handicap. He recalls early schooling, farm life, and travels by horse and car when necessary. He notes coffee, cigars, and an early 4 am routine as keys to health, while maintaining a light heart about aging. Relatives of Emily Tobin share her estate of $4,600 after church and grave costs.
