Monroe Band to Visit for Weekend Exchange Concert
Robert Musante announces the second annual exchange concert weekend between Monroe-Woodbury High School Band and Columbia High School. The ensembles will rehearse together and tour, culminating in a joint concert at Columbia High School Saturday at 8 p.m. Last year Columbia hosted a group from Agawam, Mass, and the event was well received.

The funeral of Rev Ernest R Ryder retired pastor of Troy and area Methodist Churches was held Saturday from Bryce Funeral Home and Grace Methodist Church. Officiating were Rev Henry Scherer Jr Rev Lawrence Larrowe and Rev Elmer N Haley with bearers Lauren D Cronk Raeburn Myers Orville C Gowie Maynard Baetcher George H Speidel and J Lawrence Munson. Interment followed at Albany Rural Cemetery officiated by the three clergymen.

Obituary: Hudson Valley Railroad worker dies at 84
An employee of the old Hudson Valley Railroad Company who died Friday at age 84 had helped run a trolley line from Troy to Mechanicville and north. He lived in East Hartford since moving from Stillwater 27 years ago. Funeral services were held at Newkirk and Whitney Funeral Home and St. Rose Church. Survived by wife Mary Sullivan, son John P. Cleary of Birmingham, brother Patrick Cleary of St. Petersburg, and five grandchildren.
