Dairy Judging Tour Held in Johnsonville and Melrose
A county dairy judging tour conducted Saturday began at Paul Wiley’s Johnsonville home at 12 30 and moved to Jim Requate’s farm in Valley Falls then Dale French’s in Melrose. Miss Margaret J Story says 4 H dairy members learned how to select dairy type animals and develop speaking and problem solving skills. The top scorers may train for county judging and higher teams go to state at Syracuse. John Calvin of Rosendale Farm in Osweg? Falls is named team captain.

Malta Ambulance Building Bid Awarded in Round Lake
The Malta Ambulance Corps board awarded the new building expansion contract to Snyder and Mosier Enterprises from Round Lake after reviewing nine bids. Construction to start once legal and financial approvals are secured, with a 90 day completion promise. Captain Walter Baine presented three bids for a 1957 Pontiac ambulance which was sold to Thomas Doyle of Albany and Baine along with Jay Peck will remove red lights lettering and siren as required by state law.

First Aid and Water Safety Classes Run in March
Saratoga County Chapter of the American Red Cross ran March sessions with 10 instructors issuing 12 junior first aid cards. A review covered 49 standard 32 advanced and one special advanced cards. Eight instructors completed a course to teach county first aid. Two water safety instructors led classes with 11 students graduating in senior life saving and water safety.

One Israeli Soldier Killed in Border Incidents
TEL AVIV AP A Israeli soldier died and two were wounded in separate incidents near the Suez Canal and the Lebanese border over the weekend. Four Gaza Strip Arabs were reported wounded in sabotage attacks. An Egyptian bullet wounded one, another was killed, a patrol vehicle hit an explosive on the Lebanese border, and Gaza Arabs were injured in grenade attacks on a labor exchange and a taxi.
