Meaning of the Cross and the promise of eternal life
The article reflects on Jesus’s death and resurrection as a triumph over death. It argues physical death is not the end, that Jesus remains living beyond the grave, and that this belief transformed Jesus’s followers from despairing to evangelical. It frames the Cross as victory, enabling immortality and moral reinforcement for believers.

Panties for stout women sparks wartime board inquiry
A Pittsburg woman forwarded a complaint about the scarcity of panties for stout women to the War Production Board. She argued the right cloth costs too much and questioned why wartime shortages kept adults from affordable undergarments.
