Callaway County Railroad Bonds Case Upheld
Missouri Supreme Court rules Callaway county subscription for Louisiana and Missouri River Railroad stock was legal under the 1868 amendatory act, validating bonds issued to pay for the stock. The decision absorbs questions of constitutional voting requirements and the relation between original charter and amendments. Justice Miller dissents, arguing bonds void for lack of required county vote under the constitutional provision.
