Shooting in Warrenton Leaves Dryden Facing Charge
Nat C. Dryden shot United States revenue agent Ferdinand DeMoyer in a street encounter near W A Jones drug store. Dryden fired after a scuffle over insults and threats. DeMoyer was wounded in the lower lip and neck area. Dryden surrendered to the sheriff, bond posted, case postponed by the state attorney, with officers noting the evolving accounts and subsequent movement of DeMoyer to St. Louis for care.
