Final Rites for Christine Kuhrt Sunday Afternoon
Christine Kuhrt 80 died Wednesday at Sumner hospital after a brief illness. Funeral services were Sunday at Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. A Thalacker officiating. Burial followed at the church cemetery. Survived by daughter Marie and brothers Wm Dohrmann and Raymond Dohrmann. Mrs Kuhrt moved to Tripoli in 1954 after living near Tripoli all her life.

Frederika town park committee deepened the Wapsipinicon river channel below the dam in Frederika park. The dozed area measured about 150 by 50 feet with depths increasing from 6 to 12 inches to 4 to 5 feet after work, completed in roughly four to five hours using a D-7 caterpillar rented from American Marietta Co. Lorenz Boevers operated the machine, with labor donated by Frank Downs, Stanley Bahlmann, and Boevers.

County completes Buck Creek road surface project
Bremer county engineer Earl Welshons announced this year’s road work is finished with hard surfacing on Buck Creek road from Iowa Highway 3 to 93. The project finished ahead of schedule thanks to early spring and good summer weather. The new county maintenance garage north of Waverly was reported about 75 percent complete.

Appendectomy at Allen Memorial Hospital
