Final rites were held Wednesday September 4 for Henry Hagen aged 76 who died Sunday morning at Allen Memorial Hospital Waterloo Services were at Faith United Church of Christ with Rev Victor Weidle officiating Burial was in the church cemetery Casket bearers were George Hagen Victor Nacke Wayland Gade Ernest Neuendorf Wilbur Mahlstedt and Roland Sverdahl He is survived by his widow two sons Ernest Tripoli and Loran Parkersburg six sisters Mrs Ida Neuendorf Denver Mrs Peter Mahlstedt Tripoli Mrs Bertha Nacke Sumner Mrs Fred Gade Waverly Mrs Martha Kroll and Mrs Amanda Sverdahl Waterloo

Tripoli high school pre season drills indicate a well balanced Panthers squad though reserve inexperience clouds overall strength. Thirty nine players vie for varsity positions as the team prepares to open the season against Sumner on September 13 with seven returning lettermen leading the effort. The American Legion Auxiliary meets at Town Hall on Tuesday September 10 at 7 30 with Lavera Fink Minnie Schumacher and Elinor Block as hostesses. Graveside services were held for Darren Dean infant son of Mr and Mrs Dennis Bergmann at Elmwood Cemetery Waterloo. The Bergmann and Weidemann families attended.
