Duck Banding Underway at Sweet's Marsh in State Plan
A duck banding operation is under way at Sweet's Marsh as part of a statewide plan coordinated with the Federal Fish and Wildlife Service. Iowa unemployment insurance payments dropped to 2 139 952 64 in July reported by the Iowa Employment Security Commission. The total covers 42 545 weeks of insured unemployment. The Iowa Conservation Commission finalized 1971 hunting seasons at a special mid August session. Waterfowl and upland game seasons were established. A point system will determine bag and possession limits for duck hunters with 10 20 90 and 100 point ducks. Daily bag limits range from 1 to 10 ducks and possession limits reflect two days. Duck season runs Oct 2 to Nov 20 1971 with hours from half hour before sunrise to sunset. Geese season runs Oct 9 to Dec 10 with limits of five geese and special pairings allowed. Some counties and areas near Forney Lake are closed to waterfowl hunting.
